Is it a boy? Is it a girl? Does it sound familiar? The very first name attached to your identity, BOY or GIRL! Then follows the choosing of a name for the unborn, carefully selected with love, a name that will represent you for the rest of your life.
As you all know, I was born a girl, but I was also called daughter, sister, aunt, friend and most importantly I was called MOM! A name that made me proud and nothing could make me happier. These were all happy names I carried throughout the years, but along the way, with life's ups and downs you collect a few not so favorable names, in fact I prefer to refer to them as labels, labels that is given to you by people. Labels that hurt and destroy you and at the end make you forget about the beautiful names you were given throughout your life and the lies that comes with the labels you wear become your new reality and at the end influence your identity. For years I carried labels around i.e. ugly, fat, spoilt brat, slut, ditsy, and the list goes on, and sadly, I made them my own, I gave these labels the power to take priority over the beautiful names given to me.
We all know what an echo is, right? When we scream something into the mountains, the message comes back to us.... halloooo ..... halloooo. Imagine building our own echo chamber within our own hearts, echoing the words we know is true about who we are. Fact is, when we keep on feeding our minds with negative self talk, our hearts will never echo the words that will feed us and make us grow into healthy individuals. Rip off the labels that does not define you, and wear the labels that has always been yours.
I want you to bear with me, or shall I say humor me. Choose one name / label that still hurt you to this day, ready? Now, take this name and write it backwards, yes you heard right, my name is brat, so my new word is tarb! Does it make sense? Not yet, but it will soon. Have you reversed your name? Next choose a definition for your word, what do you think it means? I think "tarb" sounds like a type of vegetable. Next choose a language it sounds like, and well I think "tarb" sounds Russian to me. There you go, I have a new word with a new meaning in a total new language. Out with brat and in with tarb .... words carries a lot of power, but we have the choice to wear it or rip it. What does your new words sound like? I bet you are chuckling at the sound of your words.
Allow your heart to remember the words that makes you smile, i.e. loveable, worth it, desirable, creative, etc. Let your mind and heart collide into believing the best of YOU!
We will continue with Chapter 3 shortly.
It is good to be back.
